In late September, 30 people from diverse backgrounds came together to celebrate the opening of a new communist bookstore, “L’Étincelle” (“The Spark”).
Located in the heart of downtown Québec at 82-90 De La Reine, the space will showcase revolutionary ideas by offering a variety of both literary and political books at affordable price.
Part of the space is organized for conferences, discussions and debates, while another is dedicated to art exhibition. The first exhibition features Lisette Charest’s “Iroquoisie,” a series of six paintings recounting the social changes suffered by Aboriginal people in Canada.
Revolutionaries need spaces for organizing and “L’Étincelle” is a great place to do so. We congratulate the comrades involved with the bookstore for their initiative and wish them a long journey and a great experience!
Opening Hours: Monday to Thursday from 8am to 6pm (lunch break between 1-3pm).
